A Lavender Tea

Won't you join me for a lavender tea?

Please park your bike

Walk up the steps

to the house

and come around to the front door.

No need to knock. Just turn the knob and come on in.

I hope you wore your lavender dress

hat

and shoes.

After we visit for awhile we can walk down the lavender path

to where I have set out a tea table under the Sycamore tree.

Fresh lavender tea

Perhaps you would like yours iced on this warm spring day?

Or if you prefer, I can give you lavender lemonade.

If you prefer it hot, you could add a bit of lavender sugar.

I made a lavender tea cake

And whipped up a batch of lavender tea cookies.

Afterwards, we could take a walk past the colorful gate

And stroll through the lavender fields.

After the exercise, we can return to the table and I'll serve you lavender ice cream.

And oh, by the way, before you leave, I have a gift for you. I have made this lavender soap so you will remember this lavender tea and our very nice visit.

  1. What a delightful tea, Sanda. Who doesn't love lavender? I'll be there in lavender outfit, and ready to try that tea-cake - have tried lavender scones and liked them, so this would be something delicious. Oh, and the lavender lemonade - how fragrant would that be!

    1. I bought lavender flavoring, in a bottle, for cooking. Then I bought my lavender cookbook and found the recipes call for lavender buds. I can't find a single baked good that calls for my lavender essence. But I'm still looking. But the lavender lemonade would be made with the liquid, don't you think?

  3. Sandra I am mesmerized and enchanted by your beautiful lavender tea! It is one of my favorite colors. My Master Bath is painted lavender, and now I see all of these wonderful ideas! Thank you!

  4. Everything in lavender - wonderful!
The house looks strikingly amazing. Small doubts about the lemonade, are you sure it´s safe to drink it ; )?

    1. Although I love the color, I can't imagine living in a house painted lavender! Quite safe, I think. Tons of recipes out there and I intend to make it soon. I'll let you know how it tastes!

  5. What a wonderful tea and stroll through the gardens. Thanks for inviting me. I love the scent of lavender but have been disappointed in the foods with lavender I've tried. Probably just haven't come across the right thing. Lavender lemonade sounds enticing though. It is quite warm where I am today.

    1. The lavender is quite strong and likely doesn't suit everyone's taste. I had basil limeade the first time a couple years ago and that's something that's really good.

  7. what a fest for the eyes! I love lavender pastry :-) and that lemonade looks so refreshing. Now you've got me thinking of creating a recipe for a cool summer iced tea with lemon, lavender and mint.

    2. I've made some muffins using lavender, honey and oatmeal as well as fullcorn flour. I was going for that rustic vibe and they were yummy, only next time I would add some lemon flavoured frosting as well :-)

  8. Everything looks so lovely and refreshing. The lavender lemonade sounds so refreshing! I don't particulary like the color for clothing or household things but do love the lovely plant and the smell. Hopefully, we will get to gather some soon.
