One of my favorite times of the year is when the Yoshina Cherry Trees are in full bloom.
We have nine of these non fruit-bearing trees on the front lawn. Ornamental in nature only.
What a joy it is to be outside when they're blooming. The constant buzz of honeybees, the frosty and snow-like petals against the backdrop of clear blue skies, makes one feel that maybe there IS a spring this year after all.

Thank you! The trees are at their peak today but rain and storms predicted tomorrow so goodbye blossoms. Frog video is up!

DeleteThere are some trees very similar to this at the community centre where my craft group meets. I'm always in awe of their beauty. No idea if they are cherry trees or not - no fruit on them - but I do look forward to them in the spring.
ReplyDeleteI think flowering trees are stars of the spring season, along with daffodils and azaleas.
DeleteOne of my favourite things to do in the spring is to ride the bus into town instead of driving the car so that I am free to observe the trees and gardens as they burst into a colourful and dazzling display of petals, clusters of blooms and wonderful scents.
ReplyDeleteSo many of the early flowing trees are ornamental fruit trees-- cherry peach pear etc. I don't have any fruit bearing trees as I don't want to do the pruning and spraying that is necessary.

DeleteJust beautiful! Love the blue skies as well. Cherry trees are my favorite too..just hope they can last a few days before the rain and wind comes to ruin them as they are very fragile! Do believe spring is here at last.

Deletethe cherry trees here are in bloom, too, and there's a park close to us that has a row of them planted all along the road that goes through the park. they are beautiful, aren't they!

DeleteI am able to admire your cherry trees in pictures only, as we don´t have similar ones in general. Some lucky ones have succeeded in growing them, in warm, sheltered places.

House is far back from the road so no one sees them unless they actually come here. So we mostly enjoy the sight ourselves!
