Gifts

These are the  retirement gifts I received.

A beautiful Brahmin handbag. I love it; don't have anything like it and it's a very special gift. Thanks, all of you!

A large matted space shuttle launch photograph signed by co-workers. I traveled to Kennedy Space Center, Fla., to work during 16 shuttle launches while I was at NASA.

A clock from the ASRI Corporate Office. Very nice.

A "face" flower pot from my friend Nancy, who retired last year and came to the party. Thanks, Nancy!

Beautiful rose cup and saucer and Zhana's Gypsy Tea from my friend and co-worker Jessica. She knows how much I love my tea! It's delicious!

Garden tools and planting basket from Craig. He arranged multiple colors of tissue paper to look like flowers

A gift certificate to Cafe Berlin from Steve, and a few cards.

As you can see, I had a great party with great friends and co-workers. I will miss all of you! And thanks for everything.

  1. Thank you for showing us your gifts.
The handbag is SO you. I´m sure, that after receiving it, you are now willing to continue your decluttering of your older bags ; )
I also like the teacup, the garden tools and the cards - I see a dog in one of them!

    1. Hi Mette,
I, too, think the handbag is "me." I do need to continue my decluttering and now will have more time to attend to that task. Yes, one card was a foldout of four pages of dogs. My coworkers know me well!

  2. How wonderful to be so appreciated! It looks like everyone knew you well and put real effort into selecting your gifts and cards. It almost looks like your dogs posed for one of those cards - and is that your husband on the other one? As much as you will miss work, I'll bet you get the nack of retirement as quickly as I did! It's great!

    1. Hi Beryl,
I thought the gifts were very well thought out! I was pleasantly surprised! Did not expect gifts. Ha, yes, one of the cards has Goldens, just like mine. The one of the guy is not my husband; it was a gag card! I don't think I'll have problems adjusting to my new life!

    1. Hi Heather,
The Brahmin is very beautiful, as are the others as they came from very special people. Thanks for the hug; it is bittersweet to retire, but full of happiness as I look forward to the next chapter! I have so many plans.

    1. Hello Ida,
Well, it hasn't been boring, I'll say that! I think I sometimes took for granted that I worked among rocket scientists and had the opportunity to being a part of history being made. The last shuttle launch was very emotional, as we knew an era had ended. I think that was the beginning of my desire to retire.
